CDS specializes in strategic planning, design, manufacturing
and installation of signage, décor and cabinetry for
retail environments. We design environments that are
comfortable for shoppers, distinctive to each retailer
and showcase the product in the best light. The result
is stores that sell more by design.
We are flexible and will work with you to provide full,
turn-key services or just one part of the process.

don't have to worry that on opening day the décor
and fixture package won't be done right."

Our customers say it's tough to find a harder working
crew. Whether it's setting tile or building a façade,
the multi-talented install team works until the final
detail is complete.
CDS's manufacturing capacity and capabilities have grown
from the days when CEO and Co-Owner Rick Graap worked
out of his garage. We have grown a lot, however, we
have not compromised our values of strong customer service
and quality. In fact, many of our employees have been
with us from the early days. The crew even includes
three generations of the Enger family: Grandfather Arden
as lead carpenter; Son Jeff as a project manager and
Grandson Nick as installation foreman.
Today, every square inch of the 45,000 square foot facility
is utilized for creating durable, lightweight and cost
effective visual elements for retail environments.
CDS has one of the only CNC routers in the Northwest.
Complex three-dimensional designs that once took a week
to manufacture can be produced in a day. Once a pattern
is entered into the router's computer, the design can
be perfectly replicated in laminate, wood, foam, acrylic
and other substrates. On this day, the router is finely
etching the lettering of "Devine Color" into PanolamTM.
The recessed lettering will then be painted black to
offset it against the wood-grain facing. Read about
how we developed an upscale but cost-effective display
that is helping to take Devine
Color international.
Warehouse shelving holds a variety of building materials,
including a wide selection of sustainable products.
The shop also includes a panel saw, edge bander and
the original router, still used for smaller jobs. Today,
the crew is working on assembling a triangular, wood-paneled
sign that will hang about a coffe kiosk.
Unlike a typical metal shop, Dan Marsteller's shop is
tightly run, clean and well organized. Here, steel,
aluminum, copper and a variety of alloys are bent, welded
and polished into fixtures, shelf brackets and frames.
Today, the finishing touches are being applied to a
hanging sign for the newest GI Joe's store in Seattle,
WA. Cooling on the racks is flamed sheet metal signage
that hangs above the Asian Express section of a Whole
Foods Market.
The graphics and paint department includes a temperature
controlled paint booth in which non-toxic finishes are
applied to foam, wood, metal and a variety of materials.
Close by in a dust controlled room, the laser imager
is cutting letters that will be applied to recycled
barn wood for organic produce signs. Around the corner
is a graphic imager capable of outputting the most complex
of images beautifully.
The finishing touches that graphics and paint make are
very important. CDS and Hollywood set designers know
the best illusions can be created simply and economically
with graphics and paint. Today in finished assembly,
styrofoam that has been carved to look like a brick
wall is being painted to look like it has an aging mural
on it. Once in the store, few will be able to tell that
it is not a real brick wall and that the mural is not
really old. However, even those who notice will probably
admire the economics of this lightweight, durable and
cost effective décor solution.

to completion of another successful job. Click here
