A distinctive
fixture to display paint colors, designed and manufactured
by CDS, has helped a small Lake Oswego company quickly
grow into a national success. Enterprising artist, Gretchen
Shauffler, initially created the Devine Color line as
an antidote to the gray days of the Northwest. The display,
which was first installed in Miller Paint stores, did
so well that the line soon went national.
The original challenge as posed to CDS was to develop
a display that could meet the budget of a start-up venture
while communicating the sophistication of the brand.
"The display rack is a huge value to us. It attracts
immediate attention from the consumer and displays the
rich colors beautifully in a system that is very different
from competitors," says Devine Color Market Manager,
Lynne Whitney.
Unlike traditional
wire racks that hold paint chips, the Devine rack contains
paint pouches that can be purchased and tested at home.
The center of the display contains color wheels that
show off colors in hand painted swatches while soft,
natural light on the rack helps customers make a color
choice in an environment similar to their home.

"I appreciate CDS's great customer service and quick reaction time to production changes and increased need of product due to unexpected sales growth. They are very flexible."

The display has proven popular with small independent hardware/paint stores that are looking for ways to maximize the little square footage they have with displays that will help give shoppers more upscale options in home decorating.
